GUIDED RESIDENCY

MUSIC

MUSICIANS • SOUND ARTISTS • SOUND PERFORMERS & EXPLORERS

How can we facilitate new dialogue, inspire social and political transformations and reimagine our relationship to nature in response to climate breakdown?

A 3-week immersive sculpture residency set in the Kankon jungle of South Goa to explore the question of climate resilience through art. Led by Arun Sivag, world percussionist and social entrepreneur, founder of several socially-engaged music & arts projects working to empower youth and underprivileged groups through art and music, as well as world-touring musician.

The residency revolves around shared musical traditions from across the globe and explores the power of music to unite people and cultures, spread awareness and inspire change, love and hope. Residents are introduced to South Indian folk traditions as explore new ways of co-creating with the help of diverse musical forms and artistic disciplines, fellow creatives and inspiration from the natural world.

Residents are welcome to work on individual pieces and encouraged to collaborate with peers on the residency program. Khaama Kethna cultivates spaces that encourage personal and professional growth through free learning, creative experimentation and inspiration drawn from direct contact with the wild. The Project's intention is to rewild and explore ways to resolve the enduring conflict between (wo)men and nature.

The residency culminates in an interdisciplinary eco-arts festival celebrating all pieces created by residents in response to the climate crisis. Residents are asked to create at least one piece of work for Khaama Kethna collection that will be included in the  festival at the end of the program.
