How can we facilitate new dialogue, inspire social and political transformations and reimagine our relationship to nature in response to climate breakdown?
A 3-week immersive sculpture residency set in the Kankon jungle of South Goa to explore the question of climate resilience through art. Led by a team of artists renowned for their captivating large-scale structures and eco-sensitive designs in festivals and public arenas.
The residency focusses on R&D, techniques used to design and build structures, sustainable materials, textures and how to get concepts across with the biggest impact.
Residents are welcome to work on individual pieces and encouraged to collaborate with peers on the residency program. Khaama Kethna cultivates spaces that encourage personal and professional growth through free learning, creative experimentation and inspiration drawn from direct contact with the wild. The Project's intention is to rewild and explore ways to resolve the enduring conflict between (wo)men and nature.
The residency culminates in an interdisciplinary eco-arts festival celebrating all pieces created by residents in response to the climate crisis. Residents are asked to create at least one piece of work for Khaama Kethna collection that will be included in the festival at the end of the program.
